Y-chromosomal Adam and Mitochondrial Eve

Here is an interesting one. Theist disregard all associated data, and blindly claim that because we may come from an specific pair of humans, the bible is true.

They ignore that these ancestors did not exist at the same time nor at the same place. Also, they ignore that genetics is still improving and Neanderthal and other hominid species have now been completely ruled out as ancestors of modern humans. . This is funny, because when theist find the tiniest piece of evidence that may resemble their stupid book, they jump out of their socks to point that out, and blindly twist that to justify the rest of their faith.

Y-chromosomal Adam 142,000 years ago

Y-chromosomal Adam is named after the biblical Adam. This may lead to a misconception that he was the only human male alive during his time, even though he co-existed with other human males, including, perhaps, his own father who was not the "most recent". However, unlike himself and his paternal line, each of his male contemporaries failed to produce a direct unbroken male line to all males living today.

Mitochondrial Eve 190,000–200,000 years ago

One of the misconceptions of mitochondrial Eve is that since all women alive today descended in a direct unbroken female line from her that she was the only woman alive at the time. Nuclear DNA studies indicate that the size of the ancient human population never dropped below tens of thousands. Other women alive at Eve's time have descendants alive today, but sometime in the past, each of their lines of descent included at least one male, thereby breaking the mitochondrial DNA lines of descent. By contrast, Eve's lines of descent to each person alive today includes precisely one purely matrilineal line.
